NEET Exam Syllabus

The NEET syllabus consists primarily of three core subjects: Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. The NEET 2024 syllabus has been amended and updated to reflect the latest medical entrance exam standards by the National Medical Commission (NMC) 

Although the NEET UG syllabus mostly includes topics from the 11th and 12th grade syllabus, candidates need to familiarize themselves with the fundamental principles of biology, chemistry, and physics

    Eligibility Criteria for NEET Exams

    As per the official notice released by NMC, the eligibility criteria of NEET 2024 are stated as, Candidates who have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology & English shall be eligible for appearing in NEET-UG. Till last year, only those candidates who studied these as main or core subjects were considered eligible for NEET.

    Moreover, till last year, candidates who passed Class 12 or equivalent from Open Schools or as private candidates were not allowed to appear for NEET, but this year, this factor has been removed by NMC. Candidates who have passed their Class 12 Board exam from Open Schools will now be eligible for NEET 2024. The Supreme Court of India has ruled that students from open schools recognized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and State Boards are now eligible to take NEET. 
    Before applying for NEET entrance exam, you must ensure that you fulfill the outlined prerequisites: 

    Age Requirement 

    Candidates must be at least 17 years old at the time of admission or must attain this age by December 31 of the admission year for the undergraduate medical course.

    Nationality  

    Eligible candidates should be Indian citizens, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) or else foreign nationals. 

    Qualification  

    Candidates should have either passed or be appearing for the Grade 12 board examination or its equivalent exam. 

    Subjects

    Candidates must have passed in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English respectively and must have a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in total. 

    Percentage in Class 12

    For General category candidates, a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology is required and a minimum of 40% is required in the qualifying examination for SC, ST and OBC-NCL categories.
