
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued comprehensive guidelines for all candidates appearing in the upcoming SSC exams, including SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SSC MTS, SSC GD Constable, SSC JE, and others. Adherence to these rules is mandatory to ensure a smooth, fair, and secure examination process.
Pre-Exam Do’s
- Reporting Time: Reach the exam centre at least 60–90 minutes before the reporting time mentioned on your admit card.
- Admit Card Printout: Carry clear, colored print of the SSC Admit Card. Black and white may lead to entry denial in some centres.
- Valid Photo ID Proof: Bring original photo ID (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Passport, Voter ID, etc.).
- Passport-Size Photograph: Carry 2 recent passport-size photographs (same as uploaded during registration).
- COVID-19 Guidelines: If applicable, wear a mask and carry a personal sanitizer (50 ml) and water bottle (transparent).

- Any metallic items: Jewelry, belts with metallic buckles, coins, rings, etc.
- Eatables: Food items and beverages (unless medically prescribed)

- Biometric Verification: Fingerprint and facial verification will be conducted.
- Seating Protocol: Sit only at your assigned computer terminal; seat change is strictly prohibited.
- Login Credentials: Will be provided by the invigilator; use only the provided username and password.
- Exam Instructions: Read on-screen instructions carefully before the test starts.
- Clock & Timer: On-screen timer will show remaining time; no external watches allowed.

- Visit your exam centre one day before to estimate travel time.
- Sleep early the night before to stay alert.

Q1. Can I wear a smartwatch or regular watch to the SSC exam?
No. All types of watches are prohibited inside the exam hall. Use the on-screen timer.
Q2. Is a digital copy of the admit card acceptable?
No. Only a printed hard copy of the admit card is allowed for entry.
Q3. Can I wear full sleeves or jeans?
Jeans are allowed if they have no metal chains or designs. Full sleeves are not recommended and may lead to frisking delays.
Q4. What happens if I forget my photo ID?
You will be denied entry without an original, valid photo ID. No exceptions.
Q5. Is biometric verification mandatory?
Yes. It is compulsory for attendance and authentication.
Q6. Can I carry rough paper or stationery?
No. SSC provides rough sheets. Carrying your own material is prohibited.
Q7. What if I’m late to the exam centre?
Latecomers are typically not allowed entry once the gate closes. Always report early.
